Best 15 Things to do in Adelanto, California

Adelanto is a city located about 2 hours from east of Los Angeles. Even though Adelanto might feel like a desert city, it has incredible things to do in terms of cuisine and parks. I visited Adelanto for three days and had the best time eating delicious food and walking around parks.

When I visit certain towns, they are entirely occupied by Mexican or Japanese, or Chinese restaurants. Adelanto has the perfect diversity between all of them. Adelanto is a place where you can visit them only for their food. Here are 15 things to do in Adelanto of California. Let’s get started, shall we,

adelanto map of the city

1.John mgrdichian park

john mgrdichian park outside view

John mgrdichian park is located in bellflower street. I had my morning walk around this park, and it was terrific. This park has a couple of basketball courts and children’s play areas. You can also find baseball fields in this park. Families around this park usually host their parties in this park. Unlike other parks, you have plenty of tables and shades to sit and have a beautiful picnic.

Being a city closer to the desert, this park has trees and greenery to make you forget that the sun is boiling down on you. I saw a lot of families having BBq as it was a weekend. You can watch your kids play by sitting in shades as well. It’s a great place to be in the mornings and evenings.

Most events in the city of Adelanto happen in this park; Sundays seem to be the busiest. I always appreciate a park when they have clean bathrooms.

2.Wing bros

Before relaxing at the john mgrdichian park, I had a takeaway from wing bros. Wing bros are located at the end of bellflower street and the junction of Palmdale road. I ordered wings, and they were terrific. They also have a plant-based option which I didn’t try. So if you are a vegan, you can try that in wing bros.

The fries have to be mentioned, and they were crisp and soft inside. Suppose you have too many people to feed; try wing bros party pack. I later found out that they are available through doordash. If you don’t like the wings, you can get their sandwiches.

One of the talking points about this takeaway wing bros is that the sauce choices have cajun, Korean, and a variety to choose from.

3.Louisiana fried chicken

4 buckets of fried chicken from louisiana fried chicken

You can find Louisiana fried chicken at the junction of cactus road and Caliente road. This fast-food chain is usually busy during the evenings, around 5 to 6 pm. Louisiana fried chicken offers the best service in the town of Adelanto. If you are all about the fried chicken, this place is a must-visit in Adelanto.

Sometimes they don’t answer their phones, which is annoying. But you can always visit them directly, and they seem to be friendly people. I usually get tired of the KFC chicken, so Iied also had the Louisiana fried chicken, and I wasn’t disappointed. Some might feel the prices are high, but you will get what you pay for.

My recommendation for this place is only the chicken. If you are really in the mood for adventure, try their shrimps and fishes. The food is always served hot, which receives an extra star in my books.

4.Adelanto stadium and event center

adelanto event center people are standing for entry

Adelanto stadium and event center are located around. The owner highly recommended most of the events held here are free. Sometimes you are also offered free T-shirts. I attended the racing competition that was held at this event center. If you are looking for a place to enjoy rodeos, motorcycle races, and baseball games, always check the Adelanto stadium schedules.

The dirt bike racing is phenomenal, and it was the first time I enjoyed it in Adelanto. So if you are interested in any sort of racing, I think Adelanto stadium is something you should check first when you visit Adelanto city.

You will always have diverse food with a lot of vendors. The burger spot nearby the stadium is a must-visit food spot. They don’t charge you sky-high prices, unlike other event center food spots.

5.Bravo burgers

bravo burgers adelanto enterence

This fantastic burger spot is next to the 5 points gas station, Adelanto and Adelanto stadium, and event center. Bravo burgers have both dine-in as well as drive-through delivery. Once this place was dairy queen and later turned into bravo burgers. The people are friendly and the service in bravo burgers is great as well. They are one of the restaurants in Adelanto that offer really fast service.

I tried the bacon avocado cheeseburger combo and it was really delicious. I would definitely go back and have some more if I can. I was recommended to try the pastrami burger and it tasted amazing as well. You get additional fries and Pepsi. If you are looking for a clean place to have your burgers and fries, bravo Burger is the place to go to in Adelanto city.

One of the advantages of this burger place is that they have extended parking spots even for truckers. The menu is big and you won’t get bored if you are visiting this place regularly.

6.Raul’s taco

fresh raul's taco from adelanto

Located at the junction of rancho road and Jonathan street, Raul’s taco is the best Mexican food spot in Adelanto city, its best rated for taste and cleanliness. You can dine in as well as they offer curbside pickup. It usually gets busy around 6 to 8 pm. You might have to wait a bit for your order during peak hours.

I was highly recommended by the owner to have fajitas, carne asada, and shrimp. The combination had everything that you need to try if you are visiting a taco spot. Raul’s taco also has a lot of offers based on what day of the week it is. It is the cheapest place in terms of price in Adelanto city.

I was drawn to this place again on next morning and the breakfast burritos left me speechless. The portion size is really large.

7.West side park

trees in west side park adelanto

You can find the west side park in bellflower street of Adelanto city. Even though this park doesn’t have many trees for shade, you can walk around this park during the morning or evening peacefully. Moreover, there is a lot of shade in the evenings for picnics.

The west side park has four basketball courts and a small children’s play area in terms of sports. West side park has a great parking space, so you don’t have to worry about parking. West side park elementary school is located next to the west side park. If you have kids with you, then this is a great place to visit.

In the desert city of Adelanto, the west side park is the only place where you can find some green grassy areas for a picnic.

8.Panaderia Azteca

azteca adelanto entrance outside

Even though the city of Adelanto might feel like a deserted city for some people, the bakery places like panaderia Azteca create plenty of flavors for your mouth to be entertained with. Panaderia Azteca is located at the junction of bartlett avenue and bellflower street. Even though this place doesn’t have a big parking spot, it has adequate space to get your food.

My one complaint or improvement that I would like to see is how they pack the bread. You will notice a significant difference in the taste of the bread. It s a small place but doesn’t underestimate this Mexican bakery for its food. I was recommended to try pan dulce, and it was the best. The owner was charming and welcoming.

9.Fresco Grill Mexican

Located in chaparral avenue and madrone street, Fresco grill Mexican is the most visited restaurant in Adelanto city. They have dine-in, drive- through as well as doordash delivery. I visited them for lunch, and it was my favorite in Adelanto. The parking lot is bigger than the other places in town, so you can relax and enjoy your food.

Next to Raul’s taco, if you are looking for authentic Mexican dishes that taste like homemade dishes, try fresco grill Mexican. Again, I was greeted by the owner and was taken care of as if I am in a 5-star hotel.

The price is a bit high compared to other places, but you will get great food along with quality service.

10.El Montecito Mexican & American Restaurant

el montecito mexican outside view of the place

Located next to Jonathan Street and Bartlett Avenue’s junction lies the el Montecito Mexican & American restaurant. This place might not be a hard find as it’s located at the intersection of both hardy avenue and bartlett avenue. This is another authentic Mexican food place in the high desert.

Out of all the family-owned businesses, this is one of the businesses I felt thrilled supporting because of how much care they put into every tiny detail of their service. I loved the fresh cilantro. The onion rings are a must-recommended dish in this restaurant.

The food is presented well and can even beat many fast-food chains in quality and pleasant service. I recommend you try the pozole queso birria tacos, as they also come with birria juice. The foods are also not overpriced, which is quite rare when the taste and cleanliness are extraordinary.

11.Adelanto dog park

dog park outside gate adelanto

Adelanto dog park is located in Montezuma street and the air expy road. There are two separate sections in the park for both small and big dogs. Even though this park might feel a bit odd, as it’s not practically made for dogs or designed for dogs. It’s a great place to let your dogs play around. My only complaint is that the park is not large enough for large dogs and even medium-sized dogs. It has a well-fenced area and a bit of shade to play with a ball.

The water fountain is the highlight of this dog park. Even though the park is small, it’s kept clean. The trees arent big enough to give a lot of shade, which might be a problem on hot sunny days. There is a lot of land for extension, which might bring people back into the dog park.

12.Richardson park

Richardson Park is located at the junction of the delicious street and air Expy. It’s not an ideal place to visit during the afternoons in the high desert. It’s the best place to spend your evenings. It would be great if the park could add more trees. It’s a great place to have bbq and picnics. Football, soccer, and baseball are usually played here.

The park also has a skating section. There is also equipment for calisthenics exercises. There is a basketball court as well in one corner for Richardson park. This park is diverse as there is something for everyone.

13.Lee’s donuts

lee's donuts adelanto

Who doesn’t love sweet, lee’s donuts is located in the air Expy road and the Adelanto road junction. You can find them next to Miguelito’s Mexican restaurant. Just like most donut shops, this place opens early in the morning. The best time to get the donuts is around in the morning. Lee’s donuts also have an A health inspector rating.

Lee’s donuts not only serve donuts, but they also serve orange chicken, hamburgers, and some Chinese dishes. The breakfast sandwiches were okay in my opinion. There is always room for improvement in the Asian food section. It looked like it was added desperately to the menu to please people. The quantity is great as well as the price is reasonable.

14.Miguelito’s mexican restaurant

Located next to lee’s donuts, Miguelito’s Mexican restaurant offers both dine-in and takeouts. I visited them for dinner on my last day’s visit in Adelanto, and they served excellent Mexican food for dinner.

The staff is amicable and pleasant, and they listen to your well before taking your order, which is a good sign that they won’t make mistakes. The food was served to me hot and fast. I was recommended to try shrimp fajitas, and I loved them. The food tastes like homemade food, and it’s fresh.

The portions are substantial for the price.

Yoly’s taqueria is located next to JB trucks and oil. It’s opposite to lee’s donuts shop. They do not offer door delivery through door dash. You have to either dine-in or take out.

The waitress recommended I try pupusas and jalapeno with cheese. It was so delicious with Salvadorian flavor. You will also definitely love the tamales here. There are so many things on the menu that I would love to try when I visit again.

Always check the seasoning. If you want more, notify them as they season everything moderately.
