1.Carquinez Strait Regional Shoreline

shoreline martinez

Carquinez strait is located a bit away from the city. This is an excellent place for hiking and spending your evenings looking over the Carquinez Strait. It has two spots to spend your time, point Carquinez and little bull valley. Surrounded by many valleys, Martinez is a place that looks more or less like a dessert-green city.

You can start your hikes from the little bull valley and end them in the point Carquinez. It’s a great place to look over the city and look over the Carquinez Strait at the opposite pier. The all-natural trails run throughout the shoreline, offering a great view of the strait.

If you are a bird watcher, this place is a golden spot. You can also visit the viewpoint of the Carquinez bridge and the nejedly staging area in the Carquinez strait regional shoreline area.

I scheduled an appointment with the museum director and visited it on a Thursday evening. If you love history, this place is a gem for you. 3.Waterbird Regional Preserve

Waterbird Regional Preserve of martinez california

Waterbird regional preserve is located by the waterfront road and nearby acme fills corporation. This place is a 198-acre wetland for birdwatching, hiking, and going through wildflowers. You can find most of the Martinez families spending their weekends here.

I went for an evening walk through the trails, and it wasn’t busy at all. There were a lot of cows and birds throughout the trials. Also, you will find a lot of pop-up food trucks along the trails.

You will find many cow dung in the trails, which won’t be a big issue. The picnic tables and benches come with great views. This isn’t a place maintained by a state park to look like a remarkable preserve, and it is more of a marsh maintained for birds and cows.

11.Mangia bene restaurent

mangia bene martinez california

Mangia bene is located right next to the taco bell in john Muir Parkway junction. Even though this place is surrounded by Mcdonalds, Hanabi sushi, and Taqueria Limon 2, it holds people’s hearts for the Italian eats that they offer.

More than the food, the service, and politeness of the staff, should be the ones that should be mentioned first about Mangia bene restaurant. I had their ravioli along with cheesy garlic bread and there is no comparison to that in any of my restaurant Italian dishes.

I ordered takeout with fried calamari appetizers and they were really good. The quality of their food is justified by their price.

12.88 noodle house

88 noodle house california martinez

88 noodle house is located right next to Walmart and opposite the Arnold and john Muir parkway. This place is hard to miss if you are coming to Walmart. It’s right next to a Wingstop as well.

This is the only other place that offers all three, dine-in, takeout, and delivery. They have authentic Vietnamese Chinese soups, that you can’t find anywhere in Martinez city. The place might be small, but they keep it very clean and the staff was amicable.

One thing that I can say is that 88 noodle house is not stingy on their soups. I was recommended to try their pho, which was decent, wasn’t the best from their menu. Their chicken and shrimp specials are the ones you should try.

La Costa is located in the center avenue and Muir road, right next to the John Muir Parkway. You can both dine-in and take out. This place gets super busy during the morning and it should be, as it serves the greatest breakfast food, you can get in all of Martinez.

Even though I am not a big fan of seafood, this place brought me one step closer to loving it. I was recommended to have nachos and their spicy green agua chiles, they don’t disappoint me at all. One of the reasons for praising the seafood here is the ceviche, the fish and shrimp ceviche was out of this world.

This amazing Mexican restaurant is located at the junction of Pacheco blvd, Martinez avenue, and bush street. They offer dine-in, takeout as well as delivery. The place gets crowded around 5 to 9 pm.

If you are coming to Martinez and craving a great Mexican food experience, this is the place to be. The enchiladas and bean rice are cooked well and serve with great taste.

I was recommended to have pork and carne asada and I loved them both. The portions for chips and salsa are great and I would hundred percent recommend this restaurant if you want to eat enchiladas.

You can find Vic’s restaurant in the willow street and jones street intersection. You get both dine-in and curbside pickup with Vic’s restaurant. I had no expectations when I visited this place, they sure did blew my mind away with their great service and serenading food.  The owner was very nice and chatted with me, which is always appreciated.

I was recommended to have a waffle sandwich and it was 10/10. You can’t complain about that at all. One thing that you have to mention about Vic’s is their patio, it’s incredible.

The eggs benedict is made with great care and I loved my salmon eggs benedict. Spaghetti and meatballs are my favorites from this restaurant. Anyone who visits Martinez should try them.

16.¼ lb big burger

You can find this place in ht Pacheco blvd. Its located right next to the soda shop and five-star gas station. Even though the name has a burger on it, I loved the milkshakes so much from this restaurant. I got chocolate and banana milkshake and they didn’t disappoint me at all.

When it comes to burgers and fries, they have the best bacon cheeseburger with great crispy fries. This place is open 24 hours, so if you crave a burger, you can get it any time you want.

I tried their chicken fried steak and eggs along with chili cheese fries for breakfast, they were cooked well and served great portions, I left feeling full.

17.Tacos La Primavera food truck

tacos la primavera martinez

Tacos la primavera food truck is usually found in the Wygal and T head road. This place is located near Pacheco blvd. I came around this place to get a quick snack and ended up getting a whole meal, that’s how good the food was.

The burritos are meaty and the proportions of rice added were also in the right quantity. I loved the agua fresca. If you are all about the chicken tocos, this is the place for you too. The red salsa is something that made me visit this place a second time on the same day. It’s red, good and spicy.

You should definitely try carnitas tacos as they hit your tongue in all different directions.

18.Papi’s

papi's restaurant Martinez

This amazing restaurant is located in Ferry street and estudilo street junction. You can find Papi’s right next to slow-hand BBQ. I ate dinner here and it was the best food that Martinez has to offer.

Even though the place looks like an expensive dine-in, it is not that expensive at all. You can get great portions and affordable food here. I was recommended to have Papi’s MTZ, and Fig pizzas along with Meatball pasta. I wouldn’t trade this for anything else.

The clam sauce should get its own review. The service is great and they don’t mess with your order! The plating is great as well.
